Here's some good news: Cal lands class of 2019 shortstop, Nicole Hammoude, from Bishop O'Dowd. She's the younger sister of the East Bay POY, Frankie Hammoude, a senior catcher. I got the info from Flo Softball (7/7/17)

CalFanatic-I had two other reported Bear recruits, class of 2018 SS Morgan Zamora from Cajon JS-San Bernadino and a local catcher, class of 2019, Kacey Zobac, from Valley Christian HS-San Jose. I forwarded their names onto FloSports but they were never added to the Cal recruit list. Did you originally supply those two names? Just curious...GO BEARS!

Yep! I know zero about Zamora but the catcher from VC is very, very talented!

Partial scholarships are standard practice in non-revenue sports.

Tobey had a very solid outing in her first HS game against a strong Rodriguez program (Cheyenne Cordes former HS). 9 k's in a tough loss. Excited to see her in action this year.

Gabriella Tobey's lead Cal High to a top 5 NorCal rating (before the 2-0 loss to #1 Amador yesterday).... no seniors on that team either. Looks to have a very bright future.

Interesting that she lists in her extracurricular activities - discus throwing and volleyball...I would think that training for both would help her in softball...
