Growls is dead. This may be a circlejerk, but at least it's alive.

Easy, say all the same stuff you say on the OT board, but direct it at Larry Scott, Stanford, and USC.

The funked up schlitz we talk about in here makes Growls seem very dull (I'm a Trump out of office over Rose Bowl person). Feeling that my Growls malaise will not change until closer to actual games or unless one of the upstart QBs starts making some serious noise.

So our first game is in a little over two weeks. Is your head in 2018 Cal football yet? I'll get there, but Trump's antics have made this year's hibernation from Growls unusually long.

I mean, I care. But I don't care. I probably can name maybe 10 players, maybe less. And while I follow the Cal Bears social media, I don't care about the nitty gritty. I mean, it's cool we're opening the season vs. North Carolina. It's better than Sac State. But I probably won't really be interested until game day.

I'm sort of more interested in the NFL storylines right now -- but not interested in the NFL enough to actually watch a preseason game and (bleep) all over Baker Mayfeild's peformance.

Yes, right now, I seek trump's demise more than anything to do with Cal sports.
I'm far more passionate about that than a lifetime of Cal fandom.

I assume, like the 60s and 70s in Berkeley, football lost some luster. You know, more important shtt going on in the real world.

That said, CFB is a great distraction and once the season starts, things will pick up. If Cal does well, has a good season, Growls will be revived. It will naturally get more traffic in season but until Trump and the mess is around, he and the mess will get most of the focus. You know, American democracy is at risk.

I think the football players should take off their hats during the national anthem and stand at attention with their hands on their heart.
However, inside the hat they should have a sign visible to the cameras that says something like,
"I am honoring America, but protesting Trump"

Hehe. It's too bad you're not that into Cal football (though you might live longer than me as a result). It's really nice to get out to CMS for games. Starting to feel the football sensations again...
