Agreed. That's probably why he's the least popular SCOTUS nominee since Bork.

If Democrats really wanted to try it (in a future time when they hypothetically control both the Presidency and the Senate) they might actually have enough political support to either add more seats to the Court or call for Kavanaugh's ouster. If the conservative SCOTUS does something overreaching like overturning Roe v. Wade then the Dems will really have support for it.

The thing is, Kavanaugh's political hackery IS tied to the perjury. It's the same deal. However as a SC justice, it looks really shtty and indicates he'll vote like a Scalia or Thomas...,partisan with fake/crappy arguments.

Adding more seats ignores the problem. The SCOTUS was designed an an independent third branch but it is impossible to be a Supreme Court Judge unless you are subservient to one of the two parties, so now it is an arm of the Executive and Legislative branch.

There are no political parties in the Constitution. Better to reform the whole thing- term limits, choose and rotate them from different areas of the country and have them chosen in different ways. Have the power devolve from the elites to the people. Frankly there is no reason they have to be lawyers to divine the 18th century mind.
