Just watched that interview. So sad. I had forgotten he was in Hooper. I saw The Mechanic when I was very young and really only remember the ending. I'll have to watch it again sometime. Rest in peace Mr Vincent.

His vocal cords got damaged by a breathing tube after one of his many car crashes. Like Keef Richards, if you look at pictures of him over incremental periods of time you can see how the substance abuse gradually damaged his appearance.
