Pat Forde's column on Missy. If Brooke were interested in Cal, he would have been complimentary or at least neutral on Teri and/or Cal.

Don't see what your saying. How does he dis her? Missy wasn't even training with Cal before Olympics.

LSJU's going after Maggie hard. Forde's dad Pat dissed Teri and Cal in a recent column. Incoming furdette Voss will be working them hard.
Maggie to the Furd would be a nightmare for us!

Maggie, Brooke & Cassidy named as team captains. Hoffer & Grieshop on the men/boys' side.

With regards to the 2018 incoming freshman class, hope Teri has pointed out Cassidy Bayer, Eva Merrell, Lucie Nordmann, Grace Ariola, Anya Goeders (& others) to Caitlin as potential baby s to keep an eye on during this trip. Also Alex Walsh who can perhaps help to recruit Aussie Jr WR holder Minna Atherton (most unlikely dream of mine, but heck, you never know!)

This photo where Marta has her arm around Caitlin does get my hopes high re the sprint prospect's chances of coming here - tho Marta's other arm round Erin could be setting up a classic & hotly-contested Bear v. Furd tug o' war over this particular recruit lol (but do note Ciesla's telling lean towards Leverenz here haha) ... Cassidy on Caitlin's other side could be a promising sign too, even if BearDevil's 99% convinced that she's a shoo-in for future furdette status

Heartening to see Ryan working hard on Reece below

Andy Song (incoming freshman) is competing @ 2016 Jr Pan Pacs, representing Mexico... He's entered in the 100m back, 100m free & 50m free, where he could potentially face off against higher-seeded 2017 commit Ryan Hoffer.

Alex Walsh (2019 recruit?) is a big Missy fan, so a pretty good chance that the older Walsh sister would seriously consider Cal - if Teri's interested in recruiting her...along with Penny (in tedbear's wildest fantasy ) and perhaps Kate Douglass (also looks up to Missy) in that recruiting class... but let's not get too far ahead of ourselves quite yet lol

LOL - the only other Jr Nat Teamer that I can readily discern from the above photo = Daniel Roy (that would be the lad lying on the sand). Could be Austin Katz on Reece's right, Trey Freeman next to him ... quite possibly Michael Taylor to the far left, with Jacob Montague & Charlie Swanson to his right?? Wild guesses there though

OTOH, it's a wee bit easier to make a guestimate for the photo below hehe:

Back row: Madison Homovich, Eva Merrell, Lucie Nordmann, Grace Ariola, Joy Field, Anya Goeders, Lauren Pitzer, Zoe Bartel

Middle: Courtney Harnish, Erica Sullivan, Mags Aroesty, Brooke Forde, Ruby Martin, Isabel Ivey, Allie Raab

Front: Erin Voss, Marty Ciesla, Caitlin Leverenz, Cassidy Bayer, Casey Fanz, Alex Walsh

Lucie Nordmann is another 2018 recruit (backstroker) to keep an eye on. She almost beat Junior World Record holder Minna Atherton at the Junior Worlds. The Class of 2018 is loaded with superstar talent.

Another 2018er, Zoe Bartel, out swam Maggie and Allie Raab to win the 100 Breast.

    Isabel Ivey

Thought Mags had dropped the 100 breast to focus on her 400 IM race tonight? Margaret did bust out a nice 4:44.26 for 4th in the 400 IM A final btw, and a new PB (Aroesty's old record = 4:47.89)

Actually I've been most impressed by Isabel Ivey who's really on fire @ this meet, and dropping time like crazy!

The promising 2019 recruit won the 100 free in 54.95 (old PB = 55.71), only swimmer in the entire field to dip below the 55 sec barrier ... as a matter of fact, that time would have tied her with Allison Schmitt in prelims of Olympic Trials to advance onto semis @ Omaha! For reference, 100m free times for the other American qualifiers in this evening's finals: Grace Ariola - 55.93, Lauren Pitzer - 56.18, Anya Goeders - 56.32

Isabel was also the fastest American in the 200 free A final yesterday, dropping over a second from her pre-Jr Pan Pacs PB to come in 3rd in 1:58.94. Actually would have ranked 9th at OT morning heats in this event with that time - faster than Gibson/Manuel/Drabot/Bispo/Chenault and even (a still-recovering) Katie McL's prelims swims at trials!

Did a 100/200 free double to boot in this session, having just anchored Team USA's W 4x200 free relay team to victory over the Aussies!

W 4x200 free relay Champions! L to R: Lauren Pitzer, Courtney Harnish, Brooke Forde, Isabel Ivey

Below is a shot of Caitlin helping Isabel with her USA swim cap from yesterday - and hopefully recruiting her at the same time... *winks*

btw Allie Raab will probably end up swimming down at the Farm or for UGA - her parents had met at LSJU and mum swam for them (thanks for that tidbit, BearDevil, hope I didn't butcher the details lol), whilst sissy Meaghan is a Dawg...

UAC, I have also been very impressed with Isabel Ivey. Do you know what class she is in? College swimming doesn't have her listed. Another swimmer who isn't listed on College swimming's recruiting lists is Alex Walsh. What class is she? Alex is interesting in that she swims both the backstroke and breaststroke.

To answer my own questions, Isabel Ivey 2018 and Alex Walsh 2019.

2018 is going to be so deep that I hope we save some room for next years efforts.

tedbear - do believe both are in the freshman class of 2019 (Isabel may be 2018, not sure) - so perhaps a bit too early to pin superstar status on them at this early stage, as much can change within the next 2-3 years!

Isabel swims with the Gator Swim Club in Florida, I believe. Only potential hiccup for us is that Ivey seems to be a bit of a Ledecky admirer (but then, who isn't these days?!) - unfortunately the Ledecky factor will play quite a role in influencing a whole generation of promising swimmers to harbour dreams of becoming a furdette ... to be fair, these things come in cycles, as I wasn't exactly complaining when Missy was the draw for Cal (and Natalie before her)...

Alex Walsh (Nashville Aquatic Club)'s particular versatility is a bit unusual, she has been hailed as the future backstroke hope of America but that may be taking it a mite too far, will have to see how the older Walsh sister develops in her strokes meanwhile. As mentioned previously, Alexandra is Team Missy from all indications...

We can only hope that she would go Pro & return to DC for training by the time Ivey is college ready.........
