BERKELEY – Junior wide receiver/returner Trevor Davis and sophomore quarterback Jared Goff and both earned National Player of the Week honors for their performances in Cal’s thrilling 60-59 victory at Washington State last Saturday among several accolades announced Monday.
Davis was named the CBSSports.com Specialist of the Week, Pac-12 Special Teams Player of the Week and California Muscle-Milk Student-Athlete of the Week. He is also a nominee for the VEGAS SEVEN Royal Purple Las Vegas Bowl Pac-12 Player of the Week to be determined by fan voting and announced Wednesday.

Goff earned the College Football Performance Awards Co-National Performer of the Week and also shared the CFPA’s Quarterback Performer of the Week, both for the second consecutive week.

Davis and Goff will next be in action when Cal returns home to play Washington at Kabam Field at California Memorial Stadium for Homecoming on Parents & Reunion Weekend this Saturday, Oct. 11 (3:00 p.m. PT). The game will be televised by the Pac-12 Networks with audio broadcasts of all Cal football games also available on KGO 810 AM, the Cal IMG Sports Network, SiriusXM Satellite Radio and online at CalBears.com via TuneIn.

Cal is 4-1 overall and in sole possession of first place in the Pac-12 North with a 2-1 conference record, marking the first time the Golden Bears have been in first place three games into the conference slate since 2006 when Cal won its first six league contests.

The Bears have also won four of five games to begin the season for the first time since 2008 and received votes in both the latest AP Top 25 and USA Today Poll released Sunday for the first time since the fourth week of the 2011 campaign. Cal received six and four votes, respectively.
