Cal offensive guard commit Casey Roddick
Massive 6-5/330 St. Bonaventure (Ventura, CA) offensive guard Casey Roddick became Cal's 14th commit of the 2017 class this weekend, joining Clovis West 2018 quarterback Adrian Martinez as the newest future Bears.
The 3 star guard starred at left tackle for the Seriphs, whose season ended last weekend in the CIF playoffs, but he'll play on the inside at the next level, where his power and aggressiveness will be well-served for the Bears.
Roddick playfully announced his commitment to Cal on twitter, saying, "Don't worry momma, college is on me"
"First off, I would like to thank God for the blessings and also for the opportunities he has given me throughout my life," said Roddick in his announcement tweet. "I want to thank my mother and my father for being my motivation. Also my younger brother and sister but especially my older brother Cody Roddick, who spent endless hours sending out film, helping my recruiting process.
"Thank you, too, all men and women of St. Bonaventure High School, friends and family and also coaches and staff who spent countless hours preparing me to be the individual I am today.
"To all the coaches who recruited me, thank you.
"For the next chapter of my life, I will be attending the University of California Berkeley."
Roddick chose the Bears over Oregon, Oregon State, Colorado, Utah and more.
