BERKELEY -Sunny skies returned in Berkeley as the Bears resumed spring practice with two weeks remaining before the spring session wraps up.

Head coach Justin Wilcos addressed the media following Monday's practice.

"It was a good day today," said Wilcox. "We didn't get to talk to you guys after Saturday but we had a really good, productive work day Saturday.

"We had a lot of different game situational work, a ton to teach off of on a lot of levels.

"We followed it up today with a little shorter practice but still got a lot of individual work and team work.

"Every day we see gains but there's still a lot we need to clean up.

"The guys' attitude has been great overall. This is the time you separate yourself because everyone's a little bit sore and you've got to work through those things and continue to grown mentally as the variables increase."

With several players held out of spring ball entirely, Wilcox was asked about the current health status of the team.

"You're never as healthy as you want to be," said Wilcox. "The guys that are recovering, you're working to get them back as soon as possible.

"We have a great training staff and our strength and conditioning group does a fantastic job. So they'll get back out here as soon as they can.

Wilcox credit new strength and conditioning coach Torre Becton with having his players physically prepared for the rigors of spring practice.

"Torre is a huge part of what we're doing," said Wilcox. "From the day he's been here, the guys have really soaked up all the coaching.

"He's got a great energy and he's very knowledgeable. He's a very important piece of this."
