Cal freshman wing Archer Olson
In the last of three installments on Cal women's basketball three freshman additions, today's video interview features former Gunn (Palo Alto, CA) High School wing Archer Olson.

Olson averaged 17 points and 6 rebounds for Gunn as a senior, helping lead her squad to the CCS section playoffs before falling in OT to Aragon.

"Archer has been really good. She's kind of surprised me with some of her skill sets," said Cal assistant coach Wendale Farrow. "She's able to shoot the ball well, she's a sufficient ball handler and she speaks well on the floor. She's one of the people that mimics what we say as coaches and you like to hear that chatter in the gym."

The versatile 6 foot wing also played volleyball early in high school before committing full-time to basketball. Also an excellent student, Olson is starting off her Cal academic career with a challenge, her first class being in mathematics.
