BERKELEY -Golden Bear great Jaylen Brown (2015-16) capped off his first year in the NBA by earning a spot on the league's All-Rookie Second Team.
The Boston Celtics forward received 24 first-team votes and 106 points to join Jamal Murray (Denver Nuggets), Marquese Chriss (Phoenix Suns), Brandon Ingram (Los Angeles Lakers) and Yogi Ferrell (Dallas Mavericks) on the second team.

Brown, the third overall pick of the 2016 NBA Draft, averaged 6.6 points, 2.8 rebounds, 0.8 assists and 17.2 minutes in 78 appearances with the Celtics. He earned 20 starts, averaging 10.0 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.4 assists as a starter.

The 2016 Pac-12 Freshman of the Year wrapped up his first professional season averaging 8.6 points in the final 25 games, including the NBA Playoffs. Against the NBA Finals competitor Cleveland Cavaliers, Brown shot 58.6 percent and averaged 9.0 points, including a playoff career-high 19 points in game 2, during the Eastern Conference Finals.

The Celtics won 53 games and finished first in the Eastern Conference regular season before losing to the Cavs in a five-game Eastern Conference Final series.

Malcolm Brogdon (Milwaukee Bucks), Dario Saric (Philadelphia 76ers), Joel Embiid (76ers), Buddy Hield (Sacramento Kings) and Willy Hernangomez (New York Knicks) were named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team.
