Cal Headed to NCAA Tournament

For the third consecutive season, the California Golden Bears will participate in the NCAA Tournament.

Cal (19-12) received an eight seed in the Greenboro Region. They will take on ninth-seeded North Carolina on 3/23 at 12:30 PT in Waco, Texas. The winner will play the winner of the match up between tournament overall top seed and host Baylor and No.16 Abilene Christian.

Cal was also sent to Waco in 2017, when the Bears beat LSU before falling to Baylor in the second round.

Congrats to Cal WBB for getting into the NCAA. This is one more chance to watch K Anigwe (around 20 points and 16 rebounds per a game) display her incredible talent in a Golden Bear uniform.

I think we can beat UNC in the first round, but after that, beating overall #1 seed Baylor in their home court in Waco is next to impossible. Crazy things happen during March Madness, so, we will see.

Go Bears!

UNC will be tough. They beat NOTRE DAME this year. They have a lot of good guards including but not limited to Paris Kea and Meghan Watts. Although their rebounding stats are modest, they do have a good inside presence Janelle Bailey who has USA Basketball experience like Anigwe. Ironically, Asha Thomas's brother played for UNC.

I think Colorado's freshman big, Jank, had a career day against them so they may not be strong in the post.
