Cal OLB Tevin Paul Ready to Roll With Cal's Stellar D

April 19, 2019

Cal OLB Tevin Paul's journey to his eventual landing spot at OLB with the Bears has found him contributing in a myriad of ways, earlier than many projected.

The 6-4/270 rising junior garnered 18 tackles in 2017 after redshirting the prior season. Paul came to Cal as a defensive end out of Lake Travis High School in Austin, picking Cal over Northwestern, SMU and Air Force in 2016.

After sitting out his redshirt season, Paul had his coming out party in Cal’s 38-7 loss to Washington in Seattle, providing one of the few defensive sparks for the Bears with a big 8-yard sack and another TFL in the loss, playing largely as an undersized defensive tackle in 4-man fronts.
