Bears Take Care of Beavers

November 4, 2017

Oregon State gave Cal a little bit of anxiety Saturday, but ultimately the undermanned Beavers were no match for the Bears, who prevailed 37-23 at Memorial Stadium.

The announced crowd of 35,440 saw the Bears (5-5, 2-5 Pac-12) move within one win of becoming bowl eligible for the second time in six years.. They have two chances to get it, in the Big Game at Stanford Nov. 18 and the following Friday at UCLA. those will probably be more difficult opponents than Oregon State.

The Beavers (1-8, 0-6) had seemed to play with a little more spirit, not to mention effectiveness, since head coach Gary Andersen left and was replaced by Cory Hall.
