SAN FRANCISCO – California had four student-athletes voted onto the 2022 All-Pac-12 baseball team, which was announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon ahead of the inaugural Pac-12 Tournament in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Outfielder Dylan Beavers, designated hitter Caleb Lomavita and first baseman Nathan Martorella earned All-Pac-12 first team honors while shortstop Keshawn Ogans was recognized as an All-Pac-12 honorable mention. In four full seasons since 2018 under head coach Mike Neu, Cal has earned 13 All-Pac-12 First Team selections (no All-Pac-12 team in 2020 due to COVID-19).

Beavers was awarded a spot on the first team for the second consecutive season after maintaining his status as one of the Pac-12’s most dynamic offensive players. The junior right fielder ranked among the conference’s top 10 players in nine different offensive statistical categories, including home runs (16, tied for second), walks drawn (49, second), runs scored (60, third), slugging percentage (.639, fourth) and runs batted in (48, tied for sixth).

Lomavita showed why he’ll be special for years to come following a standout freshman campaign with the Bears. The Ewa Beach, Hawaii native slashed .273/.347/.409 with six home runs, 44 RBIs and 15 stolen bases as Cal’s primary designated hitter. Lomavita was one of just five players in the conference with at least six home runs in 15 stolen bases and ended the regular season with a 10-game reached base streak.

Martorella emerged as arguably the Pac-12’s most fearsome bat during conference play, leading all players in batting average (.388) and hits (47) while slashing .388/.462/.686 during the 30-game slate. The Salinas, California product finished the regular season on an 18-game hitting streak and totaled 11 home runs, 15 doubles and 45 RBI in 52 games played.

Ogans was one of Cal’s most productive players on both sides of the ball throughout his junior season. Along with starting all 53 games at shortstop and ranking fifth among conference players with 146 defensive assists, The Daly City, California native reached base safely in 45 of those 53 games and slashed .317/.382/.428 with 66 hits, 29 RBIs and 35 runs scored. His 21 multi-hit games were the second-most on the team behind Martorella (22).

Sixth-seeded Cal (28-25, 14-16 Pac-12) ended the regular season with a six-game winning streak and will face No. 3 seed UCLA in the opening round of the Pac-12 Tournament on Wednesday night (time TBD) at Scottsdale Stadium.
