MINNEAPOLIS – Former Cal linebacker Mychal Kendricks is a Super Bowl champion after Philadelphia knocked off New England, 41-33, in Super Bowl LII on Sunday at U.S. Bank Stadium. Kendricks started the contest and contributed four tackles in the victory. The Eagles' defense kept NFL MVP Tom Brady and the Patriots from scoring on each of their final two drives after New England had taken a 33-32 lead earlier in the fourth quarter.

Former Cal wide receiver Bryce Treggs was also a member of Philadelphia's practice squad.

Cal has had at least one player on a Super Bowl roster in 17 of the last 18 years and each of the last five. Prior to Super Bowl LII, C.J. Anderson was the last former Cal player to be on a winning team for the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl 50.
