I'm not smart enough to know whether the guys Madsen is recruiting are any good (although I'm confident he is), but the strategy makes sense. Maximize your NIL budget by recruiting guys who excelled in high-school and need a change of scenery, or who performed really well at smaller programs.

He clearly wants a team that is more athletic, plays better all-around defense, and has multiple scoring threats. Interested to see who he lands next - there are still several players reportedly considering Cal who could make a big difference.
