4 star Mater Dei Catholic wide receiver Jeremiah McClure has long been on Cal’s wishlist and last weekend, he made the visit north to Cal.

“It was very organized. They all were happy and loved where they were,” said McClure of his interactions with Cal players he met

The groundwork Cal receivers coach Burl Toler and the Cal staff put into McClure’s recruitment earned the Bears his visit.

“Some of the coaches I knew and have had a long relationship with when I first got offered. When I was there all the players were friendly they were all having fun,” said McClure.

“My relationship with the coaches is tight. They’re a school that wants to win and are all loyal to each other. The coaches want the best for the players and push them to succeed, I’ve noticed.”

The Bears’ practice tempo and execution made an impact on the talented receiver.

“The practice was fast and organized,’ noted McClure. “They were on it. No mess ups and again they were having fun being there, you could tell.”

The 6-3/210 McClure holds offers from USC, UCLA, UW, Tennessee and more. He plans to take his time making a decision, with a postseason decision most likely.

The speedy receiver started out at St. Augustine in San Diego but migrated east to MDC for his junior and upcoming senior seasons, totalling 38 catches for 958 yards for an amazing 25.2 ypc average along with eight touuchdowns his junior season. He noted that a strong combination of academics and athletics are his main priorities in his decision.
