I remember reading your post/article about the Luke Walton incident years ago on Yahoo!'s sports section (or was it your BoomTho blog?) and it popped into my mind during the UCLA game when I heard the unmistakable sounds of Walton's bass calling the game. I'm glad to see you've kept your sense of humor and recounted the story (in more detail) on your podcast.

So long as Mad Dog is Cal's coach, Casey "Rodson" Jacobson is likely to be a bit more restrained in his trashing of Cal.

Great stuff, Mr. Benson. The old Oregon arena was called MacArthur Court. It was a pretty cool place. Too bad Oregon couldn't preserve it like Cal did with Harmon Gym.

Another very cool episode

Interesting continuing take on Aimaq. Yeah he has trouble with very athletic shot blockers like USC's and AZ's center, Also as you said when you get blocked multiple times even with different moves and counters it gets in your head and makes you tentative (a killer in hoops)

But Aimaq was also being double teamed every time, and USC rotated in 3 players to defend him, while Cal only relieved him for 5 minutes with a completely overmatched Larson.

Aimaq will go up against another athletic shot blocking center in UCLA's Bona who is a projected NBA draft pick. Aimaq wasn't efficient in the first game but grabbed 14 rebounds

But I like your take on Tyson. I agree he's the best player Cal has had in a long time

About the play with Rodney, I took note of that play too and noticed he got the quick hook and sat the rest of the game. He's a freshman and will learn

Hope to see you at the ucla game!

Also, finished your book, and was sad for it to end
