Beat out a Stanford kid with a tremendous back 9. I caught the last half hour or so and it was fun to watch.

Yeah. 17 was the key. McNealy made a big mistake off the tee and compounded it by trying to save par. Perhaps he felt he needed to do something dramatic after Homa birdied the hole. Max played some solid golf down the stretch - the difference between a multiple winner and a guy trying to win his first.

Great to see Max get another victory, and one near Berkeley, too.

Yes, this was really fun to watch. His hole out on 12 really changed everything. McNeally was playing well and looked like he would cruise to victory before Max's eagle. He went on to sink two more medium-length birdie putts after that to clinch.

More good news for Cal Golf--hope it continues.

Go Max, Go Bears!

Unfortunately I didn't realize Max won until today. Between Week 2/3 of NFL/College football and the "end" of the PGA season a few weeks ago with the FedEx Cup, golf hasn't been front of mind.

But I'm a huge Max and Collin fan. I've listened to almost every Get A Grip podcast that Max has put out, and ironically Max announced last week that he's quitting the podcast to concentrate on golf, and lo and behold he finishes on top in his next tournament!!

I'm excited to see if Max can take the next step in 2022, and if Collin can continue to dominate Majors.

Go Bears!

I'm so psyched for Max. He gets to play with his childhood hero at the 150th Open at the home of golf. Dreams do occasionally come true.

Now I'd be a tiny bit disappointed if at some point on Thursday or Friday Max doesn't bring up the Cal-Furd rivalry in a light hearted way.

Go Max & Collin!
