When is the last time you watched a USC-UCLA game?
Your avatar is a white shirt with blue sleeves…YTandemBear said:
our Totally agree. The UCLA/U$C came is always a feast for the eyes. Cal & Stanford really need to do this. Love the color saturation. And the old B&W TV argument is so arcane as hard to believe! Drop this stupid tradition.
Plus, anyone with ANY Blue & Gold in their blood HATES seeing Cal in white. Yuck! I've ranted before, but it's still relevant: NO white jerseys! No white Cal t-shirts! WHITE helmets? Are you EFFING HIGH?!!!!! Stop it already. It isn't even a color! (Ok physicists you can shut up. I know.)
And seeing Wilcox show up for the on-field post-game interview wearing a mostly white hoodie made me sick! Come on folks, we really can do better than this!!!

If you look at pictures of Big Games prior to around '72 or so, you'll see that Cal and Stanford always wore their red and blue jerseys for Big Game. Other games such as Utah/BYU, Oregon/Georgia, and many NBA games are going back to the tradition of wearing their teams home color in unis. I have lobbied, for years, for Cal to go back to wearing the Blue jerseys on the farm as they did for a majority of history. It's a great look, and $C/UC(la) picked up on it almost ten years ago. We need to revive that tradition.
Saw a new (Joe Roth Blue) play shirt on a seat neighbor yesterday. You may have options again. I am not crazy about the royal blue, but he did say he just got it for the 40th.TandemBear said:
Yup. I put it up for the 40th anniversary. Funny because I did it, but then it wasn't showing up thereafter so I was wondering what was going on. Thanks for showing me it's actually up.
That's my original big game t-shirt from 1982. So glad I held onto it. Unfortunately I wore out the GOLD The Play shirt that I had. I'd LOVE to have posted this image instead. Over the years, I was always frustrated to see commemorative Big Game shirts printed white. Made no sense to me at all. And this jersey is no exception. Hate that it's mostly white.
Regardless, I still hate the white clothing I see being worn by Cal staff. And the white jerseys are the worst.
