... and three to antagonize.

"Dear Clemson, I really enjoyed the trip to Orlando for the 1991 Citrus Bowl! What was the score of that game again? Looking forward to whupping playing you again!"

Seriously, thank you NC State, for going against your Tar Heel brethren and doing us a solid!

ACC fans are calling The Play arguably the greatest play in ACC football history.

I'm surprised that they already like The Play better than the kickoff return for TD in that Miami-Duke game that had (by my count) five uncalled block-in-the-back penalties.

I like the comment that adding Cal, Stanford, and SMU to the ACC is adding more poo to the burning poo pile.

LOL!

Wake Forest boards.

We're mostly happy to have you join us. Except for some trolls who post on our boards for reason unknown to me.

Wake Forest has little in common with Cal or Stanford except that we take academics seriously and we can play some good football for some decent streaks, and used to be good at BB. And are quite good at baseball and a number of Olympic sports.

Anyway, I'm glad to welcome you to give you at least a semi-decent P5 home, and you will burnish the conference's academic halo, so we've got that going for us. For Wake, it is good insurance for the conference being gutted of UNC, UVA, etc., to prepopulate a Tier 2 quasi power conference with a focus on academics.

Even though I assume you guys are parking in our yard for only a few years, and will leave when the grass is greener, that's okay. We'll have fun while it lasts, and hopefully it gets us to better random outcomes. Either Football End Game slots, or if not, a conference of like schools with common approaches. Right now, I'm for collecting those schools in advance. We have enough in the East so need to identify some more in the west so when we split into regional divisions for our D-1 academic conference, y'all have enough rivals.

I am for happy today, though - like you - this isn't like a perfect set-up and solution. But it is good and much better than bad.

I kind of wish we had just acquired the PAC-4 as a temporary "subsidiary" so that you kept your assets and added teams you wanted, buried inside a scheduling alliance and P4 conference. To be spun out whenever you wanted. The media contract for the new expanding PAC-X would be something, plus the value of the ACC carriage, plus sharing post season money.

I think y'all should be able to easily divide us - relatively - and to all feel good if all we did was provide a scheduling bridge.

But, as a Wake fan, I'm happy to have you in as full voting members and look forward to some long trips that I assume most of us can afford if we care enough!

Yeah, I thought that if we didn't get to 12 votes, falling back to PAC-4 with a scheduling alliance (assume don't need 3/4ths vote for that) could have been good, maybe even better. No looking back now we are ACC members, signing the GORs until 2036.

Maybe we add some more West of the Mississippi teams?

Wake has been top of the ACC in football and baseball. Impressive for a school with a small student population, strong academics and no major market. We should aspire to the same success.

Do yourself a favor and avoid that place like the plague. Any normal people fled Tigernet years ago and it's now basically a giant echo chamber for the worst parts of our fanbase. I, for one, am really looking forward to a trip to Berkeley. What a cool backdrop to a stadium.

2 good sites are Techsideline.com for Virginia Tech and The Sabre for UVA...Virginia Tech's President and his wife both have 3 degrees from Cal-Berkeley so there was not much doubt about his vote. Welcome Bears, we need some get back from Aaron Rodgers wearing us out :>)

the best one for Georgia Tech is (39) Georgia Tech Forum | Georgia Tech Swarm (gtswarm.com) but after last night you may want to wait a day or two till some get over the game last night..

Clemson grad/fan here. Please don't judge all of us based on TigerNet. It's not exactly a Mensa convention over there.

Regardless of how Clemson voted, I am genuinely happy for Cal fans that you have a "home" amidst all this conference realignment insanity. I've been reading this board for the past couple weeks and it's obvious you care about your team & school.

So with that, welcome to the ACC. Go Tigers.

Best Virginia Tech forum is techsideline.com. Best UVA forum is thesabre.com. Exact same format. Welcome! Oops looks like it was already mentioned above. Welcome anyway!

As you all are smart enough to understand, votes from those in charge and common joe fans are often two different worlds. I will personally say Clemson fans have a reputation for being the most hospitable in the ACC and country in general. Of course there are stereotypes everywhere. I am a die hard Tar Heel. Carolina is probably the most hated overall school. The ABC acronym "Anybody But Carolina " is strong. But that's OK. College rivalry is what gives collegiate athletics more heart than the pros. And for me more fun! GO HEELS! #GDTBATH
