Totally unreasonable to cast aspersions at Tedford over one former player testing positive for PEDs a year after leaving Tedford's program. Of the dozens of players he's put in the NFL, how many were ever accused of PED use?

Not to mention, Haener isn't "done". He's been suspended for 6 games, not kicked out of the NFL.

Like a lot of LaMorinda players, he'll be useless without them. Cut him.
I hope Lamonica Peters asks his mom about it next time she asks her a stupid question at the end of one of her reports from the field.

Lamonica is a great reporter (serious, prepared, no flubs and no cutesy flippant bs banter) that frequently has to endure stupid questions from anchor J. Haener at the end of one of her stories. Lamonica should respond, "Hey Ron Burgundy, just stick to the teleprompter, ok?"

The Mean Streets of Danville. My PED blanket statement was based on observations from my son's era. Most of the football studs played hoop in the same summer leagues that he did so I observed them growing up and developing.

One PED aficionado at Monte Vista flamed out with injury in HS; two flamed out in college, one by injury one because of skill ceiling issues….and one went to the stratosphere.

It's tough to fool Mother Nature and make yourself bigger, stronger, more durable and tougher than the original blueprints. Most derail eventually.

Dont really know what you are talking about in so far as DANVILLE "flame-outs".

SRV has seen some great high school QB's come out of it, including Sam Keller, Corbin Louks, and Jay Southwick - - - all of whom have played professionally.

SRV also produced former Cal and Fresno State QB Zach Kline.
And Cameron Birse who went to Murray State.

Now they have a kid named Luke Baker that is supposed to be better than all of them.

Rival Monte Vista has obviously had tight end Zach Ertz find his way into the pros along with linebacker Nate Landman who went to Colorado and who currently plays for the Atlanta Falcons. .QB Jeff Lockie made his way to Oregon and Kyle Wright to Miami, with brief stints in 2008 with the Vikings and the Niners. Ryan Whalen was a wide receiver at Stanford who was drafted in the 6th round by Cincinatti where he played for 3 seasons before single seaon's with the Vikings and Niners.

Perhaps the greatest high school football game that I ever saw was in Danville one foggy Fall night in 2002 when Kyle Wright of Monte Vista faced off against Sam Keller of San Ramon Valley.

Wright was the #1 recruit in the country and had been privately tutored by former Cal coach Roger Theder. His favorite target was Sam DeSa who also wound up at CAL. Meanwhile, Sam Keller was in the Top 10 QB's in the nation having committed to Michigan. There were a little over 1,000 yards in total offense. A total shootout. Tickets were sold out and cars were parked along Stone Valley Road for 2 miles before you even got to the school. - - - Even Mike Pawlaski still talks about this game as one of the greatest he's ever seen!

Kyle Wright drove his team 70 yards down the field with less than 40 seconds to win the game.
