Two F15 fighter jets just flew over berkeley and we legitimately thought we were getting b*mbed. They gotta give some sort of warning before hand or something

I'm kinda impressed that she recognized those as F15sokaydo said:Two F15 fighter jets just flew over berkeley and we legitimately thought we were getting b*mbed. They gotta give some sort of warning before hand or something

Were they? Fleet Week Blue Angels are F-18s from the U.S. Navy.
You do that, okaydo. You won't be disappointed.okaydo said:chazzed said:

Yes, of course. Wilcox is a defensive genius. That's his only worthwhile quality.
Anyways, I haven't watched tonight's game. I'll check it out.
It should have been good enough to win.okaydo said:
I can't watch the game for obvious reasons….but i saw we scored 40…that's good, right?

I can understand how a casual Cal fan might have enjoyed tonight's game despite the loss because we scored a lot of points and though the other team scored a lot of points, that's all it takes for some people to be entertained but I don't understand how any real football fan could come away with anything except contempt for our weakness. Among games that were competitive most the way through, that was one of the worst I've sat through. Reminiscent of the very worst of the Dykes era defenselessness.
How did you not want to throw up watching OSU convert 5/5 on 4th down, watching their primary route receiver get open virtually every time, watching our defense turn gutless and get run right through for one conversion after another? Not to mention the kick coverage "defense" which was so atrociously bad that Wilcox stopped kicking deep altogether.
If we're going to lose, I'd far rather lose a hard-hitting slugfest wherein our team showed physical courage, toughness and grit. Offensive ineptitude is boring but inane Madden-style defenseless losses are worse than boring, they're almost degrading as a fan. When I feel like our guys left it all on the field physically and emotionally as they did against Auburn, I'm proud of them win or lose; watching a game like this leaves me disgusted and almost ashamed of our team and outraged at our coaching staff.
I won't sit through another Dykes era. It's hardly football to me. I'd rather turn in my season tickets than watch us give up 30-60 points every game (except vs our OOC patsies, and even then sometimes still). If this is your idea of a good time, you're welcome to have my seat.

Where have all the Jackson loyalists gone? Hello? Like the kid but can't pass or stay upright. Let's ride with Ferd
start what? It was started looong ago. But this board was all the rage for Jackson and some guy wanted Mendoza and got shot down as if he were his father.calumnus said:cal83dls79 said:

Why would you want to start something? We are all happy with/for Mendoza. We were Jackson "loyalists" when the only alternative we had seen was Finley. Mendoza is all the things people imagined Finley was: a strong armed QB with good accuracy, decent mobility and good decision making. He played great especially considering it was his first start and really first game and against a ranked team. I can see both QBs only getting better, but right now Mendoza should clearly be the starter with Jackson his back up.

I was all for Jackson because Finley proved to be completely incapable, and I never would have thought the coaches would be so insanely incompetent that they wouldn't have given one meaningful snap to the clear best option in the QB room. So the logical choice would be to stick with and support Jackson until he develops. Alas, I underestimated the level of coaching incompetence though, which was actually really hard to do.

Hasn't the last 6 years been evidence enough of waiting through frustration......

100%
Although I do think Mendoza is going to make anton of frustrating mistakes in his first road game at Utah. Like all things Cal, the move to Mendoza was too little too late.
the window for "development" has narrowed significantly. Nix and the kid that just beat us down are case in pointEcon141 said:PtownBear1 said:cal83dls79 said:start what? It was started looong ago. a "series per game"? Wrong. Seen enuf of the other two.ducky23 said:
I agree. He should get at least a series per game. We need to keep him engaged. I'd also like to see him at WR a few times a game just to run some fly sweeps. Then you can also start running some fake fly sweeps and fly sweep options.
