Anybody got the original Golden Bear drink recipe from Henry's? I've seen this one:

The Golden Bear
Yields one cocktail
Ingredients
1 ounce vodka
1 ounce fresh orange juice
1 ounce white rum
1 ounce sparkling white wine
orange slice for garnish

...and that is not the original. I'm sure the original use Southern Comfort and 151 rum. I keep googling but I'm drawing a blank.

My recollection is that it uses 151 rum and a bit of Galliano. I always mix to taste rather than specific quantities.

If there's no Memorial Stadium Gold Bar Whiskey in it, I'm not letting it touch my lips.

2a) if no longer sold, where do we acquire this whiskey

My memory is 151 floater, southern comfort in there and also champagne. Can't believe I'm still alive.

I saw a bunch of these bottles at Berkeley Bowl West a few weeks back, perhaps they still have some there.

My favorite was the orange julius slushee

Within the Cal Fund tailgate area I was told to try their whiskey. It was some featured whiskey and the bartender said it was mixed with some ginger beer and honey. It was tasty.

16 Ounce Glass with Ice
1 shot 151
1 shot Southern Comfort
Fill with Orange Juice
Add a splash of 7-up and Ameretto
Enjoy with plate of potato skins or mozzarella sticks
And don't have more than 2 because Durant Avenue begins to spin

I found this written on a scrap of paper in my office. I have no idea if this is it or not but it's titled "Golden Bear"

equal parts 151, Southern Comfort, 7up, orange juice, and a float of Di Saronno Amaretto


There is a separate recipe I wrote down that says:

equal parts 151, Southern Comfort, fresh squeezed OJ, and champagne

I thought Baccardi stopped making 151 years ago. Are you using bottles you stockpiled or is there new 151 being sold on the market?

What do we do with all the unopened bottles of tequila? I know some were opened after last Saturday's historic win at the Rose Bowl.

Wow, I had missed that. And it was because people were burning themselves with various, I'm guessing, stupid tricks with the flammable rum. And then suing Bacardi.
