Every sport should do an intro like they do on Sunday night football with the athlete giving their name & school. It would help the fans with getting to know who these athletes are and where they came from.

For the record, Cal and Stanford combine for 90 different athletes. The other 15 schools of the ACC combine for 122.

But you know, the national narrative is Cal and Stanford don't care about athletics.

The narrative is that, but primarily around football and hoops. Many schools do not even have some of the olympic sports that Cal and Stanford field.

JMO but if Cal and Stanford really care about the Olympic sports like they do, then they need to find a way to stay nationally relevant in football and basketball. Football pays the freight for the athletic department. Cal can self fund Water Polo and Swimming but likely lose some staff and recruiting would suffer if they are no longer a P4 football member.

Not overnight perhaps but an erosion would be likely. Being strong at football keeps the entire athletic department strong.

FSU likes rip on Cal athletics in their legal filings but they have 1/3 the number of Olympic athletes. Yet they make so much more money from their football team than Cal does.

Yup. With all their football money, and their location in Florida where so many athletes live and train, in addition to being a huge public university, FSU shouldn't have only as many olympians as Harvard and one fewer than Duke.

100% but this has been known for decades and the admin was content being anti-football so long as the checks kept rolling in ... Until they didn't. Now we better scramble fast to right ship and the first step is getting a new AD. What is taking Lyons so long?

No, the narrative is that they don't care about the revenue sports.

No, it is exactly the narrative that Cal and Stanford care only about "prissy" country club/Olympic sports and don't care about "manly" "American" sports like football and basketball.
