So nice to see Cal play a mid afternoon game on ESPN and really outplay their opponent in all three phases of the game.

Our defense was stellar. After a bad first drive, they locked down, got pressure consistently and forced five turnovers (six if not for a horrible PI call).

Our offense looked spectacular in the first couple drives. We then just did enough. One the road, with a banged up offensive line and Ott not 100%, the offense played really well. We need to clean up our offensive penalties, but hard to complain for 60 minutes of hard work.

Yes, we missed two field goals. You have to hit the close ones, but being on the hash makes it tougher in college. The long field goal is forgivable. But this is the best punting I've seen at Cal since Nick Harris pinned someone inside their 10 multiple times (I believe again Illinois?).

Great win, Bears! Congrats to the team and coaches.

Yes! I'm an extremely happy camper. And I'm pleased for the players who bleed blue and gold.

And this will shut up the negative Nancies. For a few hours. Okay, at least they will be drowned out for a while.

Speaking as one of those that long has been critical of Knowlton and Wilcox's performance in the past, I have always wanted this because we NEEDED this due to Wilcox's contract. I have always said we need Wilcox to become the coach his fans on this board think he is and today he did.

Some huge questions answered: 1) Bloesch called a much better game than his first two, 2) Mendoza did not commit any turnovers and showed immense poise when the initial throw is not there. Calm confidence as he matures. 3) Sirmon's defense came up big. He dialed up pressure and the DBs made great plays. 4) With Ott injured, we got meaningful carries for The Jet
who should be RB2 and is a potential local star.

And all that with OL injuries and bad OL play, Ott still obviously slowed by injury and the refs negating some of our best plays.

The guy who predicted 10 (revised to 6-6 after Davis) is now looking reasonable.

You are persistent with this point, and I'm so with you on it. After games like Nevada in 2021 and Colorado in 2022, it is hard to have much hope. But Wilcox is persistent in his own way. Maybe we will have a winning record in the ACC this season. And, of course, we will need to beat SDSU and OSU. All of that would be good progress.

Great to see fellow bears across that state here in Auburn! Saw the area that was cordon off and I was surprised at how many bears came! Go Bears!

Having been both a player and coach, seeing the inside and challenges in preparing and actually playing an away game of this magnitude is hard to believe. For the coaches and staff to both prepare and present the Bears in this incredibly hostile environment just helps me stay so positive about this team. The replacements and subs on offense may have struggled a bit, but their growth after being thrown in the fire today, will elevate quickly. I have only attended maybe 3 other Cal games in all my years that showed so much of what I considerTEAM. USC at home in 2003 - triple overtime. Tennessee after being throttled down there the year before. And 2007 Game Day in Oregon when the Cal fans walked back to the Gameday trailer and sang Cal songs while Lee Corso (who had predicted a Duck win), came out and kissed a Cal helmet after the incredible Cal victory. Attending the Southern Miss win which I presumed would mean a Rose Bowl berth also left me speechless like today.
Bring back bottled beer and cigars at CMS. Should get us back in the Rose Bowl!

So there may be something to this 54 new players and 13th ranked transfer class thing after all?
