For the first time ever in my 23 years here in Florida, on my drive to work this morning, I heard Cal Bears Football being discussed on sports talk radio about their upcoming game at FSU. College football fans here are truly distressed about how horrible their Gators and Seminoles are playing. Of course, the discussion centered on why the Golden Bears are traveling so far to play games, noting that the while the UF and FSU players don't go to class, our players still need to pass their "molecular chemistry" tests.

I think they'll know more about us after the FSU and Miami games. :-) Great for recruiting and fund-raising!

Go Bears!

I just saw this in an AP article titled: "Florida State is college football's most disappointing team, and it's not even close":
Quote:

The return of offensive coordinator Alex Atkins should help. Atkins will return to the sideline against Cal after serving a three-game suspension due to an NCAA recruiting violation.

I don't know if that will result in a significant improvement in their offense. Yeah as far as we know so far, DJU is still QB1, so maybe not.

Funny how 3 losses later FSU has quieted down about not getting their fair share in the ACC and jumping ship.

He's the OC but NorveLLL is still the play caller, it should have some impact with his in-game coaching and advice but I don't think it will be a night & day impact. We just have to take care of business, if we neutralize their DL (tall order with our OL and injuries), and our defense shows up the way they have this season then I think we're fine. They're still a talented team and their desperation makes them dangerous and we all know we're prone to letdown games, especially against winless teams (see: Colorado, Arizona, Notre Dame, UC Los Angeles in the last few seasons). This game has me nervous because of what the cost of losing is vs the reward of winning but I still have faith

Our OL will decide it. The FSU rb's will not look forward to Ulu and Buch in the second half, leaving their qb to run for his life (just so long as it isn't downhill). So, can our OL hold off their DL and playcalling gives our rb's some space.

FSU will play hard. But, Cal in a close one 24-17.
