Cane's is good. We have stopped at the one in Davis and the one in Vacaville coming back from Tahoe. I was looking for locations near me last year and their website showed one on Bancroft Ave in Berkeley but it did not actually exist (article explains the location was wishful thinking).

The one in Oakland is located near the Coliseum, near the In n Out that closed. It is "no cash" and "no dine in". The drive thru is always pretty crowded, nonetheless.

It is kind of pricey for fast food, but it's good, especially if you have kids! Their limited menu reminds me of In n Out. Does anybody know if they have a secret menu where you don't have to get the Texas Toast? (The last thing I want after chicken fingers and fries is more carbs.)

I drove 20 miles out of the way just to try, and I don't get the Canes hype. Boring no flavor chicken. Why even get fried chicken if it doesn't have any taste? Canes' sauces is bad too.

I guess high calorie per dollar spent might do well with the college crowd though.

Nah, cook it yourself. Screw the franchises! Here is a recipe that, although not fried chicken, is definitely worth trying:

I think we're in the minority, but I am with you. I am more of a Nashville hot fan for chicken sandos or tendies. It's not from Nashville, but I love Dave's Hot of the chains around.

I use to live in Vacaville in the 80s, if anyone ever gets a chance, hit up https://vasquezmexicanfood.net/about/ and let me know how it is..they use to make homemade tortillas that were SOOOO good. Their burritos were top notch. I'm surprised its still around...that's pretty cool. In the summer they use to hold small concerts and arm wrestling contests in their dirt/rock parking lot. We use to order the beef burrito there, which was fantastic.

Neither do I... Then again, I don't get the In-N-Out hype either.

Yeah, even though we have a Cane's it's all about Korean (hot) fried chicken here on Guam. 10 years ago I was in Nashville a lot for work and a co-worker took me to Prince's Hot Chicken Shack, which legend has it started the hot chicken craze. It was the old location, before it got upscaled, which added to the experience.

Raising Cane's is great and will be very popular with the students. The one in Davis is fun and hopping, with some good Aggie memorabilia within it

Anyone go to Gus's Fried Chicken in Memphis before or after the Ole Miss game? Outstanding fried chicken.

It's nothing amazing, but a lot of eaters including my bottomless appetite teen disagree with me. The amazing part is that the founder is still the majority owner and he has grown that thing in to a galactic sized chicken chain!

Gus was delicious but what was life changing for me was Hattie B's Hot Chicken originally from Nashville but they had a location in Memphis.

They also have a location in Birmingham which I visited while down for the Auburn game.

Told my daughter and SIL about it and they found a location in Vegas. She told me they went back three days in a row.

I had Hattie B's Hot Chicken in Nashville and thought it was really good as well.
