Cal flipped the script! Guess even the football gods take pity on Cal from time to time. JKS is pretty clutch.

I just about gave up the Ghost with about 20 seconds on the clock when the BC receiver appeared to catch a short pass and appeared to fall into the end zone. My son cried out "No Catch. The receiver bobbled the ball as he hit the ground out of bounds"

The agony of seeing the loss before my eyes turn into the agony of the realization that BC still had possession of the ball at the five yard line and twenty seconds still left on the clock.

Thank God for the Cal D.

Also thank the D coordinator and JW for putting them in the right place with the attitude to stop the score.
Bring back bottled beer and cigars at CMS. Should get us back in the Rose Bowl!

Reminded me a lot of Cal's 2016 goal line stand against Utah to win the game at the end of the 4th quarter. Thought they were doomed then too. Life is full of surprises.

There's seems to a constant state of emotional malaise win/lose. To think at any one Sunday morning 1/2 the country exists in this funk.

Pretty satisfying win with both the offense and defense coming through in the final minutes.

We can't have that. When we lose it is our terrible coaching. When we win it has to be even more terrible coaching, by the opposing team…

BC was far from good on that whole last drive and until the last play our defense was quite lax, what if the pass at the pylon is not bobbled?

BC and its coaches didn't deserve to win. I'll give you that.

But our coaches did some things right. They got the team to stick together after a demoralizing loss the prior week, a long plane flight to a strange place, and an early 14 point deficit against a P4 conference opponent, no less. That doesn't show up in a box score but it probably doesn't happen without the right leadership moves and the right culture. And after BC's game-opening march down the field, our coaches appeared to make defensive adjustments that led to us holding a very good QB in check for most of the rest of the game. They deserve huge credit for that, too.

Last year we lost several games by a close margin. Let's celebrate coming out on top this time. I think the teams were pretty evenly matched, and a mistake here or there was the difference.

We have things we need to clean up and improve on for sure, but a win is a win, and it gives us back some confidence, much more so than if we would have suffered a demoralizing loss.

Duke looks like a tough matchup too. The team will need the support from a big home crowd to get the W.

The upshot here is that it's really tough to win against a team at home that has a bye before your game. Not only do they get two weeks to prepare for you, you get one less day to prepare for them, because you have a travel day. Both SDSU and BC had a bye week before they played us at their home stadium. Brutal.
