HS guys are officially putting pen to paper today. Here's a running list for anyone following along. I was interested to see if there would be some movement in the class but it looks like almost everyone is sticking with the new coaching staff. I'm hopeful we get some surprise newcomers but I think that movement will likely be when the portal hits and the new staff is finalized and situated:

4* OL Daniel McMorris our top rated recruit and the #1 player from Oklahoma. Huge potential but likely a year or two away from being a major contributor because he'll need to bulk up and grow into his 6-5 frame as he's only 250lbs right now

3* WR EJ Morgan out of Fresno. Speedy WR who ran a sub 11 second 100M and sub 21 second 200M. Slight frame but dangerous threat. Recorded a 131" broad jump which would have been good for 4th best for WRs at the NFL combine last year. Explosive

3* WR Kai Meza out of Utah. Another big play WR, had 20 yards per reception and 10 TDs as a sophomore with over 1100 yards

3* DB Niles Davis out of Westlake, CA. Two-way player, very productive on both sides of the ball, likely DB at the next level

3* Edge JD McKinley out of Corona, CA. Quick off the edge, had over 10 sacks his junior year when he was named league DL of the year. His brother was a WR at Notre Dame

3* CB Ernest Nunley from Anaheim, CA. Ball hawking DB with length

3* WR Tyree Sams out of Fresno. Speed. Speed. And more speed. Sub 10.5 100m

3* RB Victor Santino from Miami. All-around back with size and power but dangerous speed and good receiving hands. Junior year rushed for over 1k yards, over 10ypc, and 10 TDs

3* OL Elisha Faamatuaina from Murrietta, CA. Big body up front already with size and weight to not look out of place on any CFB team in the country

3* DL Nemyah Telona from Concord. Homegrown local star from De La Salle and a physical presence on the interior of the DL. Pure force of size and strength on the interior, looks like the successor to Keanaaina

3* LB Jaxon Pyatt out of Colorado. Interior do-it-all LB. All-State and unreal production. Junior year put up 140 tackles, 18 TFL, 4 Sacks, 4 Forced Fumbles, 3 TD's, 1 INT (Pick 6). His pops was also an NFL WR so he's got the pedigree

3* DL Kingston "Lucky" Schirmer from Corona, CA. Another big body for the interior of the DL

3* DL Frank Fanua out of Spring Valley, CA. Played on both sides of the line but, for now, is projected to get his first look at DL. Potential for him to get a look as a jumbo DE but another DL who is most natural on the interior of the line

I didn't keep the best track but I think that all that's left is the Hawaii guys since they're 3 hours behind. That would be Taimane Purcell, Nainoa Lopes, Kamo'i Huihui-White, and Esaiah Wong. No decommits through the coaching change however no flips in our favor either (fingers still crossed though). I may update later with more recent or comprehensive stats on guys but it was already taking me a while so . . . I got lazy

Taimane Purcell is the one I am waiting on... hoping we get him. He is going to be a difference maker.

By keeping our good OLineman recruits, can we assume that Tosh is going to keep OL Coach Anae? While our Oline was...not great...this season, it sounds like Anae is a very good coach.

As soon as it sounded like Tosh would be the guy, I thought immediately of Tofi. Granted, he's OL and there have been rumors that his brother was giving UO a look, I couldn't help but wonder if Tosh might speak with him.

As to DLs, I don't know that UO might not have someone interested in the portal.

When I thought of Tosh I thought of Jett Washington and Anthony Jones. Give me one of those 5 star commits hahaha

He's signed, Nainoa and Esaiah too. The only ones of our commits not signed yet are Kamo'i and Deon Jackson from Long Beach

Were there any surprise recruits today (in a good or bad way)? I'd guess that with the transfer portal opening in January and JKS showing that freshman can commit and transfer, maybe National Signing Day isn't what it used to be?

If Tosh and his staff are really going to be a big upgrade as a recruiters (his main selling point) there is even a danger you are filling up the roster in the early signing period with lower rated guys from the prior staff that will take up a scholarship for the next 5 years and limit the new coaches' ability to make an impact.

In the biddness world, if don't pay someone, they usually go elsewhere for employment.

Harsh.

"National Signing Day: USC ended National Signing Day with the top-ranked recruiting class (per Rivals), snapping the SEC's 17-year streak of inking the No. 1 class. Rounding out the top 10: Notre Dame, Oregon, Georgia, Ohio State, Alabama, Tennessee, Miami, Texas A&M and LSU."
