How long do you want to ignore this user?
I still have a hard time believing we recruited Keenan Allen and Chris Martin, the top prospects in the nation (!!!) at their respective positions... and that's not even mentioning Cecil Whiteside and Gabe King. What with futbol, OT threads, and Pac-16 talk, I almost forgot to get excited that we'll be seeing a couple new faces this fall.

If anyone has seen them (in practice or otherwise), how do they compare to our current players? It's premature, but are we set for defense for years to come?

I am ecstatic about the upcoming 2010 Season! :gobears:

Yes Martin appears to be under Tedford's influence already, no formsprings posts in the last 5 weeks!

Yes indeed; they are here. I spotted Austin Hinder and Jacob Wark; they are taking a class together along with many others of the incoming class.
GO BEARS!

Well that sure was not what I was hoping to see when I opened this thread... I though we were going to be talking about something else.

Anyway, what excites me the most about this is we got them with the promise of facilities. Tedford may turn out to be a big shot coach when he has something in addition to academics to pitch.

I think you have it right on the money, Disco. If I was Cal_Fan2 (or another CyberBear with similar technical expertise), I would have posted a photo of Agent 86 and the Chief using the Cone of Silence, with some snarky comment about it being JT and Martin.

...........so shall ye receive.......:hammer:

Practices have been wide open to the public, just walked in and walked around with several parents and people there just taking pictures, really weird how open the stands are. There are conditioning coaches on the field, it looks very well organized. The players worked on all kinds of conditioning drills in different stations. Then they ran routes. Receivers went one on one against the DB's, then the team went 7 on 7 against the defense... yes I saw Keenen Allen and all the WR recruits run routes. Keenen is fabulous. He will play this year. The rotations on the 7 on 7's were Riley at QB with Lagaman and Ross running routes and Shane at running back. The Second group was QB Beau Sweeney with Spencer Hagan and Keenen Allen at WR's. Mike Calvin and Marvin Jones were hurt, both walking around, look they were nursing something. Also Coleman Edmonds was not running at all, out with something too.

Other freshman WR's looked pretty young, Clay, Carter and Montgomery. They didn't get in on any routes, you could tell Allen has been here for awhile, he was running full speed in his plays with the second team.

Nice! :woohoo Thanks for the update. Really excited to see what kind of an impact the newcomers will have on the team.
