This is classic:

"Minus for being a pro bowler, a Super Bowl champion, a guest on Letterman, having a few more extra dollars in my pocket and not feeling the need to complain about how expensive books are, I am just like any other college student," Rodgers said. "I am here to help prepare myself for my future. So what if I met the president and the Dos Equis' man told me I was the world's most interesting man?"

Ugh. Always hoped he'd come back for his degree.

Maybe he is a "visitor" not a transfer, so he can get his degree from Cal. At least I hope that to be the case.

But wait. What will he say when introduced?

He would have if someone with a brain was in the 49ers front office back in 2005.

Don't think you can graduate from Cal if you take your final 27 credits elsewhere.

Ah, yes.:

He can petition to waive the senior residency requirement. Most common reason is "undue hardship" that being on campus would present. Unfortunately, the Dos Equis man is not on the relevant campus committee

Or, if the Niners had just told him that they were not going to take him #1, so he decided to stay his senior year and in 2005, Rodgers, Lynch and Jackson set an NCAA record for offense, went undefeated (beating SC at Memorial) and played in the 2006 Rose Bowl (also the National Championship game) defeating Texas (who screwed us the year before). ROSE BOWL AND NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP PERFECTION

Rodgers getting his degree from Cal would just be icing on the cake.

I don't get it.

UC Berkeley and UC Berkeley Extension offer plenty of online classes that he could take that would go toward his Cal degree. I guess maybe he likes the classroom interaction.

He can and should petition to have Cal credit given for the courses taken in Wisconsin.

He's a millionaire; the university would be stupid for denying him the opportunity to obtain a degree with its name on the diploma.
