Payton was supposed to be at this game. The Big House looked sweet on TV...place was rockin. Oh yah, and it was a pretty good game too. There is no way he comes back to SoCal not in love with Meeeechigan now. Damn it!!

If he goes anywhere but CAL.. it is way better to let him roll into Michigan rather than Oregon or Washington. The one game he goes to was an absolute great game, but he really needs to take a look at the whole picture. Michigan is currently an average at best team. They had no business winning that game, yet they did. Notre Dame basically let them back in the game with the 4 turnovers or that would have been a blowout. So while it looks better for Michigan, it isn't a guarantee he is going there yet.

Not worried. We'll get our share with the new facilities. Hard to beat the excitement of Michigan in the Big House in any year. We'll do okay. In fact, we'll do prettay, prettay, prettay good. Pretty good.

I can understand if you grew up in bad weather, but do Socal kids ever consider the reality of how shitty weather is in flyover country? Here in Socal, I couldn't help enjoy the breezy mid seventies temp while 1/2 the country is burning up and the other is under water.

I wouldn't count us out, yet. We've been known for crazy finishes, too. When is he scheduled to visit with us?

^this.

i wouldn't be surprised to see him commit tomorrow or monday, but i would be more than willing to put some money on him waiting to make a decision and not making a fast choice based on one event. UM has a great class going, but they only have 1 spot left and it's not like Payton is the only recruit they are saving that spot for. it's quite possible that another commit switches from tOSU, or that someone like Darius Powe (whom Cal isn't really in the running for) takes that last spot.

with everything he has been through, i think he'll do the right thing and continue to go through the process. if he really thinks that it is the right fit and he feels like he belongs there, i'm sure he will commit, but if he had any questions at all, i expect him to take the visits and not commit until later when he knows for sure. decommitting from SC has really taken a toll on him, and he and his parents want to make sure that they make the right choice this time and don't jump to any quick decisions.

and don't count out the proximity to home and friend factors. i don't buy into "the Cali Fab 5" like everyone else does, but he does have many close friends that are coming to Cal and that can play a factor when you put all the places he is looking at side by side. we're closer to home than anywhere else he is looking, and it's not like we haven't had success on the field in the past or in recruiting. it ain't over til he signs on the dotted line, regardless of where or when he verbals.

The ND-UM game was, by far, the more entertaining....And it was fun to watch Denard be so clutch. Floyd is a major talent, though....And Rees isn't too bad. Hard to root for the obnoxious coach, Brian Kelly, though.
