play lights out. They will need to make every tackle against the Ducks. I hope Cattouse can get out of his funk and if he should make a tackle please stop with the hot dogging. It is really getting old. I truly miss Chris Conte.

Hill and Sebastian at safety? Or Hill and Campbell? I believe DJ was pretty solid in last year's game. I don't see Cattouse being that huge in stopping a run game.

actually cattouse was awesome against oregon last year. he walked up as an extra linebacker all game and did really good.

Cattouse is not a good coverage guy. He is best playing in the box or closing on receivers in zone coverage. He gets exposed some in man schemes. The Cal LBs are not good coverage guys. The OLBs are too young and the ILBs while excellent run stuffers are a little to slow to play man. Oregon throws a lot to the RB. This could be a difficult matchup for the Bears. I expect Cal to have Cattouse play a spy role and have Hill be more of the coverage safety.

I will be very interested to see how the Bears line up on first downs. The 2 OLBs are both very green (talented yes, but inexperienced) and Oregon makes you play for being tentative or making poor reads. The DL plays such a big role in stopping Oregon the Bears DL will need to play huge. If the Ducks can run inside it will be a long night. That makes everything else work.

The whole 2-deep is going to get extra work for this game: Cattouse, Campbell, Moncrease and Coley. Hopefully, Coley is healed up after missing U-Dub, he was definitely missed on ST. A big hit or, two early, could be the difference in establishing attitude and give the Duck's receivers something to think about. Clean man-coverage and DL pressure was key last year.

Moncrease can definitely hit with the best of them he has some nice speacial teams hits last year. One of the better hits I seen of him was when he was still at Laney playing against CCSF. Moncrease absolutely tagged a young stud who is now playing at Middle Tennessee.

Pendergast said at the beg. of the season that DJ Campbell and Conte were basically tied on the depth chart last year. DJ played well v. Fresno St. but I haven't seen his named called that much the rest of the games. Perhaps DJ is this year's Conte v. Oregon?

Look for Stephan McClure to have a breakout game.

Outside of Bigelow's video I was most impressed by McClure's!!!! He looked special. Crazy athletic ability. I had hoped he would be on kick returns and possibly get the ball on offense in special packages as well. This is a good game for him to get A LOT of playing time.
