First off, I credit BoggyB over at CGB for posting these stats...take away the Southern Utah game and we come up with this. Remember the days we pounded the ball to set up the pass. Remember the days we scored points by the bucket full...those days are long long gone. I knew it was bad but not this bad.

Stats against FBS competition:

52.5 completion % (107th)
108.34 QB rating (109th)
33% Redzone TD % (115th)
6.0 ypa (102nd)
21 sacks allowed (124th. That's last in the nation) for 158 yards (124th)

Plus we are 100th in opponent's 3rd down conversion rate and 111th on our own 3rd down conversion rate. USC & Stanford are 112th & 113th respectively

I wonder if that is with FCS teams taken out of everyone else in the country's stats too? If not, the comparison isn't exactly fair (though still plenty brutal).

Another thing I read and for the life of me I can't find it anymore..if someone can, please post. I read either in the paper or on some board that:

Cal has given up more points in the first 5 games then in the history of Cal football going back more than 100 years....*sigh*

Crazy.

Now figure out a stat that explains why Logan was starting over Avery (who wasn't even on the two-deep to start the year). Because I can't.

Last five games against USC the Bears have scored 6 points in the first half- that stat blew me away. Groundbreaking records in futility...

It amounts to almsot the same thing, but I believe the stat. referred to is that Cal has given up at least 27 points in each of it's first 5 games for the first time in 100 years.
