Pretty amazing talent on that team. Look at that line.

Cal has always attracted talent. Even with losing and bad coaching. Cal is just a great place to go to school.

Tedford came from Oregon and thought he needed Oregon facilities to recruit [U]because Oregon needed facilities to recruit.[/U] Great players continued to come to Cal even without new facilities.

I am glad we got new facilities for their own sake, but the idea that facilities or treesitters or anything outside the field is keeping us from recruiting good players and is causing us to look so bad on the field is just wrong.

Snyder recruited talent, Gilbertson recruited talent, Mooch recruited talent. Talent wants to go to Cal. It is up to the Cal coaches to make good use of that talent.

Holmoe didn't. Tedford did better in his first 3 years, but doesn't anymore.

The idea that we "owe Tedford so much" is way overstated.
