Lots going on in the Bay Area this weekend (Giants, Fleet Week, America's Cup, etc.), and that's not including the A's game on TV. I have people throwing their parking passes and tickets at me left and right b/c they're not going. Would you take the over or under on 30,000 people actually showing up for the game (about 50% empty or full, depending on what type of person you are).

I'd take the under . . . but I won't be there to confirm it. I'll be at the Giants' game.

Uhhh, homecoming night game...over by a lot.

Out of our group of 20 or so, 4 made it to ASU.

This week, everyone needs extra tickets.

God I hope so. A half empty CMS is depressing even while I watch from my apt in NYC.

The UCLA game will be close to a sell out. There are three games that will always do well, even if we are not good - UCLA, USC and Stanford. That is why it was important to keep the LA teams on our schedule every year.

It will be over 30k. Offical attendance will of course be way over, probably above 50k, but even real attendance will get a boost from Homecoming and Bruin fans.

Hey, if people are throwing tickets at you, I'd be happy to take one off your hands.:cheer

I know we're all down on the program and our record, but I gotta think 50k people minimum show up to this. Actual people, not just the announced gate.

First time Memorial Stadium is seen under the lights, UCLA, homecoming, etc...

Seriously? We drew easily over 30K for the LA schools even under Holmoe.

I had two ESP tickets offered, a parking pass, and two in Sect T.
All because of 7 p.m game time, Giants..............oh yeah and Fleet Week.
We will have over 30k, but how long will that last?

On the calbears.com seat selection map for UCLA, it has 10 sections with low availability, 1 with medium and 2 with high. No idea how they decide the levels, but I'd guess that means there are no more than 500 seats in each 'low' section, 1000 min the medium sections and 1500 in the 'high' sections. Lots of the low availability sections seems to have a few hundred.

So I don't think I'm going out on a limb to say 55k sold now, more sold by the time of the game Saturday (sure some might not show up, but there are only 500 tickets for sale on stubhub, which isn't that much). The two sections in the south endzone might be somewhat empty still, but every other section will look mostly to completely full IMO. Still,

And even if this season goes down the tubes, ALL our remaining games are big draws that will keep attendance numbers from slipping too far. UCLA on Sat. night for homecoming. Furd in the Big Game. UW in the revenge game. Oregon and a shot at the top dog.

Could you imagine if this sh!t-tastic, possibly 1-11 season happened in an odd year with Oregon St., Wazzu, Utah, and Arizona as our home games?
