He's a new guy at RU and new to being Pres in a big time (relatively) sports atmosphere. It will be interesting to see if he will be given another chance or if his failure to ask for the videos will sink him - he seemed naive in not doing that.

No surprise there....

So I guess this means the NCAA will sanction
Rutgers for institutional corruption like Penn State.

if the president is allowed to stay. He absolutely knew about the suspension and fine. He signed off on that without knowing all the details? That's almost as bad. He knew all the details but didn't see the videos and still signed off? That's worse. He saw the videos when fired assistant coach Murdock 'outed' them sometime last year and didn't take action? That's horrible. The president has to go.

ESPN's Brett McMurphy tweeted this morning that at least 3 board members were aware of the tapes and ok'd initial punishment.

From his now public letter of resignation: "As you know, my first instincts when I saw the videotape of Coach Rice's behavior was to fire him immediately. However, Rutgers decided to follow a process involving university lawyers, human resources professionals, and outside counsel. Following review of the independent investigative report, the consensus was that university policy would not justify dismissal. "

What a cluster-fxxk. "The university policy would not justify dismissal"????? Those Penn State guys must have gotten jobs at Rutgers. More will be fired or Rutgers will be a joke. I wonder what a coach would need to do to have the university policy justify dismissal?

Just figured out the answers: Hookers. A coach gets caught with hookers and he's gone immediately. He pushes, punches, fires balls at kids and he's ok.
