Of course both jobs are unique in that they're CEOs of an university and a semi-professional football team, and both are under the FB coach in the organizational chart.

I crossed paths with him on a stadium elevator after the game in Columbus last year.
He took note of my Golden Bear attire and said the Bears played a great game.
He then introduced me to the gentleman next to him, John Glenn.
Both were entirely gracious to a nobody like me.

Possibly....but he has said so many dumba$$ things in the past and shown to be foolish, I'd say his track record and pattern of behavior points more to an educated malcontent.

A figurehead doesn't do anything. Gordon Gee does one thing. Raise money. And he does it incredibly well. He's raised $1.4 billion for Ohio State (billion with a B).

He's not going anywhere.
