Rodgers hated the city of Berkeley. His disdain for the city is well known and documented

I don't know the answer, but in 2004 I'm guessing somewhere in South Berkeley?

Oh, man. Rodgers is becoming Berkeley.

I could be wrong, but I might've remembered him saying he lived on Ashby.
But Ashby is pretty nice east of Adeline.

Or west.

Yeah, I agree, but I can also imagine someone from Chico (or elsewhere for that matter) thinking that area (both North and South of Adeline) is "rough." Some of houses have bars on the windows, for example.

West of Telegraph nothing but $hit holes.
(Many apts w/ student athletes)
Telegraph to College is reasonable.
(Cal student athletes have lived at Eldridge Cleaver's old digs for years.....and I'll bet they are totally unaware of the property's history).
East of College gets nicer.
(no known student athlete addresses)

Ashby from Telegraph to Shattuck is nice, quiet, safe.
I'm around there a lot, even last night.
On the other hand, the area around AShby Bart ain't safe.
It's really funny how you can easily go from "safe" to "unsafe" neighborhoods, and they're all next to each other.
But I know the area well. I know how to navigate the area so I can be safe.
I was actually robbed at gunpoint by a couple of teens not far from Ashby Bart in 2007 (near Alcatraz and Adeline).
So how do the student athletes who live on Ashby get to class?
Bus it?
Walking?
Car?
What if it's late?
