For the record, I also picked Northwesrtern over Cal and that Sac. State O would give Cal's D problems.

The more I think about that AU game, I think the most agregrious mistake on our part was not charging the on-side kick in order to cover it. Obviously the players didn't even know that it doesn't have to go ten yards for the receiving team to touch it. That's pretty bad and cost us the game. I'm not sure if that is a coaching problem or just a brain fart on the part of the players. Certainly there were many mistakes involved in losing that game and some of the others have their own threads running, but, to me, the on-side seems like it was the most easily preventable.
