If the FG attempt is from inside the 20, the spot is on the 20 yard line for a miss. Outside the 20 the spot is the previous spot (or the spot from which the kick was attempted - 7 yds back - Can't remember if the NFL rule is different from the NCAA rule).

Thanks, I wasn't aware of that rule. Shows how uncommon a missed FG is inside the 20. I was worried we could have gotten safetied for a loss.

I was probably too pissed off, sunburned, and drunk to notice

ha ha I was driving and listening on the radio. Didn't know about the rule and was worry if ball at 1 yard line how would we do the kneeling

NFL is from where the kick is attempted. NCAA is from where they spotted the ball for the snap. Both put a kick from inside the 20 on the twenty.

Hmm... I remember being annoyed when this happened against Cal from earlier in the season but must be misremembering the actual game.

Yea I was worried bc a safety woulda ended the game too
