I am pretty sure this was debated heatedly here a few years back and the general consensus was that it was not a Cal hat - perhaps an old Cleveland Indians hat? I recall the C being kind of red. But this was a while back, I could be remembering incorrectly.

But this image DOES look like a gold C.

I caught part of the movie on TV this morning, and it's definitely a blue hat with a gold (or yellow) C.

It's an old school Cleveland Indians hat. Read about it awhile back but don't know where I could find it again.

Did they have a blue-and-gold hat at any time? Don't think they ever had gold/yellow in their color scheme.

You can get some good looks at the hat around 3:33 and at 7:07 here:



It DOES looks like a Cal baseball hat, and not like any MLB team's hat. It might actually make more sense for the hat to be for a California school, as the movie takes place in Southern California (Benny wears an LA Dodgers cap, another kid has an old LA Angels cap). Or it could be something they made up and is a coincidence.

Nice hats in that movie.
