Per Twitter Carlos Strickland is leaving the program. I had high hopes for this guy, it seemed like he was having an excellent camp!

Sounds like this move is due to a very ill family member rather than academics.

Does anybody know whatever happened to 4* WR Erik Brown? He left the program around the same time last year.

At this rate Demetris Robertson will be on the field for every snap this season.

And both were not as good as advertised. We need scholarships anyway. We have plenty of receivers, maybe too many.

If Strickland played LB I'd be worried.
The fact that some here think we don't have enough WRs, talented or overall, is one of the funniest comments I've read here.
Stickland is a loss because he was a good player, but lets be real. Our problem will never be at WR as long as Dykes is the HC.
So now we only have
Singleton
Hanson
D. Rob
Hudson
Wharton
Duncan
Veasey
Worstell
stovell
to choose from in our 2 deep.

It was reported that Brown stayed in school. IF it was grades he didn't flunk out etc?

I disagree about their potential- both 6' 4" guys with good hands, in a league where tall wrs are a weapon. Just leaves Gamble and Kobayashi as big true WRs, both frosh, and the TEs/ H receivers Hudson and Veasey- maybe Jack Austin if he stays healthy, but the speed factor is an issue.
Good luck to both Aaron and Strickland.

Hansen and Stovall are having another great camp and I don't see how you keep them off the field.

It seems we have had more than 1 top rated recruit in both football and basketball needing to transfer due to family illness. Seems to be a problem
moonpod;842712719 said:
i think the hoops transfer was a woman wasn't it? didn't some big deal woman bball player leave?
eh you WANT to recruit nationally. it increases the talent pool. the stark reality is that there are not enough bay area kids with talent and grades. and frankly for many the cultural divide once you are outside of "the bay area" is enough that if homesickness sets in or home issues they are gonna leave. recruiting nationally is a good thing IMO. boo hoo it if you will. and the # of kids we are losing to this is relatively low and I'm pretty sure the # of kids we are losing from the program to transfers is decreasing every year. EVERY college program loses some kids annually to transfers
mbBear;842712721 said:
I wasn't lobbying against the national recruiting efforts-not sure they have a choice anyway as you point out. Just saying, its going to happen...
TheSouseFamily;842712742 said:
It's certainly more than just the location. Kids have always gone off go to college in different places. But in the last 10 years, the number of transfers has tripled from 200 to 700 (in the case of hoops).
