Quite telling on many levels. I often wonder what guys like Teddy Roosevelt would say about our modern culture. I left teaching partly because of my personal incompatibility with runaway adolescent entitlement.
In the first class I ever attended at Cal, the professor (physical anthropology), offhandedly remarked, "...By the way, there is no god and none of us is going to heaven." He was not interrupted by the screams of offended/oppressed PC-niks. There was no blow-back of any kind. It served me notice that I was in for four years of questioning everything without regard for social nicety or the momentum of "tradition". An important day in my young life.
