they have them number 8, yet SOS is 182, Furd with a SOS of 7 is rated #3?

I don't get this, as a rule I think Sagarin is fairly accurate, but I think once UW starts playing better teams they will drop??

have a much better idea once they play the Furd, but my guess is Furd beats them in Wash

Still a bit early for Sagarin, a few more weeks from now the picture will be clear.

That Furd vs. Washington game will be a good one; exactly one week from today

Thought sagarin takes about 6 weeks before it is "valid". It's the computer based system right?

Pretry much, although heavily dependent on previous years' results.

Heavily reliant on previous years results and also some sort of indicator that Sagarin puts in there as part of the end of year ranking. It becomes creditable when all teams have connections - which should be earlier this year than most since many of the top teams actually did play others out of conference. So when the OOC schedule is completed and two or three games into the meat of the season start, they become fully connected, so he can calculate based on current year. As the season progresses it becomes more accurate, supposedly. It does not rank a win at the beginning of the season less than a win at the end of the season, so the early season wins and losses matter.

This is a good site with all of the ratings combined. Cal is 45. ASU is 39.
