Looking at the forecast as of today (Wed morning) it looks like there's lots of rain the days before the game and that morning, clearing out maybe before kickoff. And mild temperatures for the game... Hope that forecast holds!

If you haven't gotten tickets yet, and want to be safe, get row QQ and above in sections 102-109 to be under cover of the overhang. I bought a couple pocket rain ponchos, too. Could be a wet one.

Yesterday, weather looked bad for Friday night arrival, decent for game. Now weather looks awful for Friday night arrival, and bad for game. Anybody else concerned?

I wonder if it's feasible to move the game to Sunday. I see thunderstorms in the forecast for Saturday, but not Sunday. That's the one thing they will stop the game for.

I don't recall games moved to different days due to thunderstorms - they generally don't last for extended periods of time, so postponement for a couple of hours or so is much more common in the event there is lightning in the area. IIRC, 4-5 years ago Oklahoma had a game that was delayed a couple of hours because of thunderstorms, and their game vs. Ohio State was similarly delayed 1 1/2 hours last year.

Accu-weather forecast for Chapel Hill tomorrow shows a thunderstorm at 10 am and then cloudy/partly cloudy until 3 PM when another thunderstorm is predicted. It keeps changing. Earlier today, it showed the thunderstorm at 2 PM.

Remember that thunderstorms are pretty much an atmospheric instability. So, even more than other parts of the weather forecast, the forecast probability is the thing.

And, at least on Weather Underground, the forecast is returning closer to the one I originally posted: rain overnight, chance of thunderstorms in the morning, rain probability down to 20% at kickoff and through the game. Hoping that sticks!

I would willingly tolerate any level of misunderstanding if it got me into a gate at RDU. Greensboro is lovely by the way.

Weather in NC looks like heaven compared even to the Bay Area. 100 degrees in SF today?!? Where I live in South Bay LA, if it gets to 90 it's miserable. It's pretty warm and humid here but sounds like the Bay Area has the worst of it. Our boys might be glad to take a trip east where it's in the 60s and 70s. Rain is supposed to clear up by game time but temperatures will stay mild. Sounds nice right about now.

Yeah it was 104 on the coast today. House is so damn hot it's unbearable.
