What a grim faced guy he is. Looks like the world is going to collapse unless Browning completes a pass. He is such a sour puss, but the TV guys insisted on showing him relentlessly last night. He may be a good coach, but not someone you could warm up to. Maybe that's why he stayed in the cold Northwest instead of beautiful downtown Berkeley.

He's concentrating and doing his job.
Everything I know about Petersen tells me I'd love to have him as a neighbor.
Suit yourself.
Go hang out with Dykes, the jolly guy was practically Santa Claus

He has always seemed like a great guy and coach. It's called concentrating on your job.

Wilcox is not exactly Mr. Personality.

He told his agent he would not even talk to Cal.

Not too many winners yak it up on the sidelines when the game is on. See Meyer, Saban, Harbaugh, Belichek et al.

UW fans may not care much about a game v Cal and Seattle is an NFL town, but you can feel when around the stadium during the game and even around town that football is a priority. Cal football is our "Home". There's a reason coaches with Pac-12 experience look at Cal as a good job more than others, Peterson was never a Pac-12 assistant was he?

He reminds me of Saban. Hell I wouldn't be surprised that when Saban retires it'll be Petersen replacing him at Bama.

He was Tedford's assistant at Oregon, where he fist met Wilcox.

Nick Saban and I shared a good hearty belly laugh over this.

People used to complain about Tedford in this regard too. I think it's nit-picky BS

A few years back, we were discussing if Petersen would leave Boise and come into the Pac12, and someone mentioned that he had a family member (son?) who had a medical condition that necessitated him staying in Boise.

Does anyone know if:
1) Was this true then, and
2) If so, what changed to allow him to go to Seattle?

I think his son's medical situation was a factor but not necessarily the only reason he chose to stay in Boise. Another, certainly important, element was the quality of the destination. He passed on L. A. but, purportedly, initiated contact when the UW job came open. I doubt he ever had any interest in Cal.
