The bicyclists are trying to get enough interest in a license plate. Two of the final designs being voted on are a bear riding a bicycle. So here is your chance for a "backdoor" Cal(ish) plate.

Wow, pretty weak choices. I'm no graphic designer, but seems like a graphic on a license plate needs to be very strong and simple as it needs to be recognized from a distance, and from a brief glimpse on a moving car. Both the bear graphics are cute but way too busy/detailed/low contrast. The bike-on-poppy and bike-on-seascape are a bit simpler, but still too low contrast. The bike-on-flag is the only one that I (somewhat) like, although it suffers from having to fit a graphic that is traditionally landscape format (CA flag) onto a portrait format space.
