The USA Eagles made it through the 1st day of competition today, helped along mightily by Cal alum Danny Barrett.

Yeah, well the Kiwis dominated men and women and the Eagles need more Cal ruggers!!

Overall a pretty nice showing by the Eagles. Danny and company are gaining on the elites, and there are moments where you say to yourself "maybe we're on to something here".

Our outside speed is dangerous if we can distribute ball to them. Interior defense isn't bad. We're really getting close to where we need to be......just a little more time.

Wasn't it nice to see such a great spectacle and representation from the rugby community? Good weather, a real grass field, wonderful atmosphere......a win for the game in America!
